IETF
RFC 8949 — Concise Binary Object Representation (CBOR)
Defines CBOR, including the deterministic encoding requirements used by CABE-ARCH to serialize Attribute Sets.
RFC 9052 — CBOR Object Signing and Encryption (COSE): Structures and Process
Defines the COSE_Encrypt0 and COSE_Encrypt structures used for CABE Envelopes by the CABE Baseline Envelope Structure (CBES).
RFC 9053 — CBOR Object Signing and Encryption (COSE): Initial Algorithms
Specifies COSE algorithms and parameters, including authenticated encryption and key wrapping. Cited in the CBES normative references.
CCEB
ACP 240(A) — Data-Centric Interoperability Concepts and Design Requirements
Cited by CABE-ACP240, which maps selected classification and labelling concepts from ACP 240 and STANAG 4774 to CABE Attributes.
NATO
Full NATO STANAGs are generally not publicly downloadable. NATO UNCLASSIFIED and NATO RESTRICTED documents are distributed through official channels; public access depends on release authorisation. The entries below use public catalogue records and published reference material.
To obtain full documents, contact your national NATO delegation or search the NATO Standardization Office (NSO) standards database by standard number, for example 4778 for STANAG 4778.
ADatP-4774 — Confidentiality Metadata Label Syntax
Specifies confidentiality labels. CABE-ACP240 maps the policy identifier, classification, releasability, context and “ONLY” categories to the p, s, r, c and o Attributes.
ADatP-4778 — Metadata Binding Mechanism
Defines a mechanism for binding metadata to data objects. CABE’s Attribute Set binding is specified in CBES, which places the Attribute Set in a COSE protected header.
Publication terminology
ACP means Allied Communications Publication. ACP 240 is issued by CCEB.
STANAG means NATO Standardization Agreement. It records nations’ agreement to implement a standard.
ADatP means Allied Data Processing Publication, a NATO publication series. ADatP-4774 and ADatP-4778 contain the technical specifications covered by their respective STANAGs.
